SAAB is a Swedish passenger car manufacturer that appeared on the market in 1947. Theliquidation of the manufacturer occurred in 2021.
There were many notable models of the brand’s cars on the market, which are now considered classics. Many of them date back to the 1990s. Model, whose production began in 1984 and lasted until 1998. There were five-door models on the market, which took care of charging comfort. Four-door models were also popular. The car used a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission
The vehicle was front-wheel drive. The weight was determined to be about 1475 kilograms with fluids. The fuel tank capacity was 66 liters. It was equipped with a large trunk, thanks to which the vehicle met the expectations of almost every driver
It is worth knowing that limited versions were available on the market, such as SAAB Special Edition, Swiss Edition, Ermenegildo Zegna. An interesting fact about this model is that in 1992 work began on a prototype which was to be equipped with a car control system using a joystick. It was to be a model without a steering wheel.
Another model worth mentioning is Saab 900. Its production started in 1978 and ended in 1998. It was offered in as many as three body types:
- two-door and four-door sedan,
- a two-door convertible,
- three-door and five-door liftback.
Models were equipped with a four-speed or five-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic transmission. All vehicles in the series were front-drive. Their weight oscillated between 1171-1320 kilograms. Spacious trunk made this car very popular
It is worth knowing that this model, despite its great popularity, was never offered in the Polish dealer network. The vehicle was distinguished by good parameters, as well as an interesting appearance. So, there is nothing strange in the fact that nowadays it is considered a classic from the nineties.
Next on the list is Saab 9-5, which was produced from 1997 to 2012. This model was presented in two body types:
- four-door sedan,
- five-door convertible.
It could be purchased with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed and five-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive made it appealing to drivers who liked city driving. Weight ranged from 1510 to 1760 kilograms, and the fuel tank had a capacity of 75 liters. There was room for five passengers in each model. There was enough space both in the front and the back to make you feel comfortable and convenient while driving.
The model that was produced from 1998 to 2011 is very popular, and after years it was resumed production, which ended in 2015. This model could be purchased in the version:
- two-door convertible,
- three-door or five-door hatchback.
All models were available with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. The weight of the car oscillated between 1295 kilograms and 1405 kilograms. Fuel tank with a capacity of 64 liters. The luggage compartment with a capacity of 500 kilograms impressed all drivers.
All the above mentioned models are well remembered even today. These are SAAB models that were produced in the 1990s and were very popular. Most of the cars from this manufacturer looked very similar, but each of them had something new to offer.
